  • Thursday, October 6: The Trickier Side of Free Speech (Virtual)

What parts of free speech are the least understood? UW Impact will host a discussion with state Senator David Frockt, media litigator Caesar Kalinowski, ’17, and UW political science professor Victor Menaldo to discuss the context of free speech in our current political climate, and the pros and cons of limiting free speech viewed as untrue or potentially harmful to others.

  • Thursday, October 20: What the Constitution Means to Me Theater Night (Seattle Area)

UWAA and UW Impact are organizing a night at the theater! “What the Constitution Means to Me” is a Tony Award-nominated play that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Your orchestra seat ticket also includes a hosted pre-show reception with drinks, snacks and a fascinating view of the back-of-house production areas. We hope you’ll join us for an evening of big ideas — on and off the stage!

  • Thursday, January 5: UW Impact Legislative Preview (University of Washington HUB Ballroom)

The ninth annual UW Impact Legislative Preview brings leaders from higher education and state government together to discuss pressing issues in post-secondary education for the upcoming legislative session.  This January, we’ll be exploring the complexities of student debt. More details forthcoming in late fall.
