Join Us: UW Impact 2018 Legislative Preview

The current political climate has highlighted diverse political and philosophical perspectives between people living in rural and urban environments. Some research suggests that higher education may be falling out of favor with conservatives, many of whom live in Washington’s rural areas. How do the UW and other higher education institutions play a role in finding common ground?

UW Impact and the UW Alumni Association will host their 4th annual legislative preview event focusing on this challenge facing the UW and public higher education – especially in light of the upcoming legislative session. This moderated conversation is hosted by Dr. Ed Taylor, vice provost and dean of Undergraduate Academic Affairs, and features the Evans School’s Dr. Scott Allard, Rep. J.T. Wilcox (R-Yelm), former Rep. Jessyn Farrell, ’96, (D-Seattle) and a UW student from rural Washington. They will share their own experiences, perspectives, and research while we explore that common ground.
